The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society is the company that organises the structure that underpins the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The Society exists to advise, support and encourage all participants at the Festival Fringe, to provide comprehensive information services, including ticketing, to its participants and the public, and to promote the entire Fringe as a festival in the context of Edinburgh and other festivals.

Our aim is to be a flexible, focused and creative organisation, and to that end we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced individual to the position of Artworker (reporting to the Publications Manager). You will assist in the typesetting of the official Edinburgh Festival Fringe Programme as well as the production of in-house advertisements, posters and other materials. The role will be for 15 weeks starting 05 March.

Our aim is to be a flexible, focused and creative organisation, and to that end we are seeking to appoint five dynamic and experienced individuals to the position of production assistant (reporting to the publications managers). You will be assisting the publications managers and programme coordinator in the registration of all Fringe shows for the 2012 festival, supporting participants and trouble-shooting any problems, as well as proofing and editing content for the Fringe Programme and edfringe.com. The team will be recruited to start: 05 March. The length of term will be ten weeks ending on Saturday 12 May. The Fringe Production team works six days per week.

Our aim is to be a flexible, focused and creative organisation, and to that end we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced individual to the position of media manager (reporting to head of external affairs). Leading up to and during the Fringe, the Festival Fringe Society provides a media centre for journalists and performers. The media manager is responsible for the day to day running of the Fringe Society media office (participant support and media services including ticket issuing) as well as supporting the head of external affairs with any Fringe Society related PR. This is a temporary role for approximately six months.

The media office consists of the head of external affairs, the media manager, the media officer, the media accreditation officer and five media assistants. The media manager, with the support of the head of external affairs, will line manage all of these roles.

Overview:
the Edinburgh International Science Festival is looking for volunteers to be festival ambassadors. You would be involved in visiting Festival venues, giving out information to the general public, promoting and answering questions about the Festival, and generally being the welcome face of the EISF. You will also be asking Festival visitors to fill in market research questionnaires as part of this role.

Commitment: EISF would ask you to commit to a minimum of 6 shifts or as much as possible during the Festival from 30th March – 15 April. Shifts will be 4hrs in length and will include weekends and evenings as well as weekdays. You will work in pairs so will be part of a team.

Requirements: This is a public-facing role and would suit some who is confident, articulate and an excellent communicator. You should be able to work on your own initiative, be positive, enthusiastic, responsible and reliable. You should be flexible in your approach, as you might be going along to different venues each day such as National Museum Scotland, the Scottish Storytelling Centre the City Art Centre and St Andrews Square.

Overview: This is a creative role within the Festival, involving attending events, talks and exhibitions and visiting partner venues and organisations, documenting the Festival photographically as it happens and attending press calls.

Commitment: We would ask you to be involved with as much as possible during the Festival from 30th March – 15 April, with weekday and some evening/weekend availability. There may also be some pre-Festival opportunities. You would be invited to attend two meetings before the Festival to discuss the scheduling and tasks.

After five years of independent operation, Brighton Festival Fringe has developed an international profile as the world’s third largest open access arts festival. In order to support the Fringe to its next stage of development and to increase revenues sustainably, we have created the new role of dedicated Commercial Development Manager.

The Commercial Development Manager will work as one of the senior management team to build on existing partnerships and income streams and develop new ones to increase income and raise the profile and reputation of the Fringe.

From sponsorship to advertising, grant funding and loyalty programmes, you will engage locally, nationally and internationally to develop a funding base which matches the developing quality of the Fringe’s programme and its audience bases. You will work closely with the marketing team to maximise the enthusiasm and commitment of those who enjoy and support the Fringe.

Operationally, you will be equally conversant with the public and third sectors and will be adept at writing compelling funding applications which are successful. You will have strong advocacy skills and will be able to negotiate and develop ideas with key stakeholders.

I am a Journalism graduate who has worked in the media and communications industry since 2008.

If you are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, and would like some extra publicity, I am available to write stories / press releases in order to help.

All you’ll need to do is let me know if there is anywhere particular you’d like it published, or even if it’s to go on handouts when you are in the city, just let me know.

I will be there myself towards the end of the festival (Aug 26-28) but will be able to work from my base here in south Wales.

I will only charge small and reasonable rates as I know that budgets for most performers are very low.
