About the festival
Founded in 1947, the Edinburgh International Festival is the city's original festival — a curated programme of world-class theatre, opera, classical music, and dance presented in major venues including the Festival Theatre, the Lyceum, the Usher Hall, and the Edinburgh Playhouse.
The EIF runs a year-round administrative team but expands significantly for the August season with seasonal contracts in production, front of house, marketing, and visitor experience. Most seasonal recruitment opens in March and closes by mid-May.
